Perrinor

Last session, our heroes continued on their separate ways after escaping from Hexicon. The just-revived Eden and Maho headed back to their Magnificent Mansion, where they encountered Mort being served a sequence of unsatisfying sandwiches by the Mansion’s imps. He seemed frustrated and despondent, but after Maho gave him one of her dad’s sandwiches he immediately snapped out of it. He cast Sending to let Heph know where they were and that they were safe.

Meanwhile, Heph was in a carriage on the way to Princess von Riess’s home in Bad Zamdorf. The Princess wanted to just get back and be done with the day. Heph received the Sending, and replied back his situation. The carriage arrived at Palace Rabenstein, where the Princess got out and had a brief discussion with waiting Central Command soldiers, seemingly convincing them to let her keep Heph under house arrest. Heph entered the royal residence and was placed in a small apartment with one window and one door down a short hallway. A soldier inspected the walls and windows, also placing protective wards against escape. Heph didn’t make much headway with the young lieutenant Anton Taussig guarding him, but did charm the personal servant Jan Löffler by offering him some of the sad desert shrimp served to him.

Maho in her bedroom Communed with Yura, asking about Wichthafen and Hooded Beth. She learned her mom was not in Wichthafen, that Sentin wasn’t working in Wichthafen, and that, indicated by a blood red glow from the moon outside her bedroom, Yura and Hooded Beth were enemies. She then wandered off to the restaurant in the back of the Mansion, where she found Mort. They shared a smoke lit by a being Mort called an “Erämaan”, from a continent west of Perrinor. They discussed Mort’s tragic Reuben past, the people he killed, how he changed his life, and how the choices Maho has made don’t have to define her forever. Maho asked if she could still go to school, and Mort said of course, he did. Maho accepted a pack and took her leave, returning to her room.

Eden went to sleep, and dreamed she was back in the Farlands, in a treehouse that she spent time in as a kid. Her mother called her in to dinner, but upon looking out no one was there. She headed back to her home through the rain and saw a figure in the distance, reaching out welcomingly. But as she traveled her chaotic magic kept firing off. The Brig appeared from the trees, slowing her further, and the figure approached, waving a wand and banishing the Brig. He lowered his hand to help Eden up, but Eden, realizing who he was, blasted him with a Fireball. Combined with poison from another chaotic burst, Sentin vanished and the rain cleared, allowing Eden to run the rest of the way home, reaching her mother and waking up crying.
