Session 117: Shockingly Successful Stealth (October 1, 2026)

Last session, our heroes got ready to dress in their orgy best and infiltrate...not an orgy, but a cave far away from an orgy. Knowing General Samin Klarck’s bear would likely be present at the encampment headquarters, they set about fishing. Despite nearly falling for a classic two-boars-tied-up-in-a-tree trap (and Maho very much thinking they were just illusory), they made the best of a furry situation. Heph cooked up some deeply unethical boar, Eden went zap fishing, and Maho calmly collected all the bounty into a box while the other goliaths looked on in confusion and horror.

You scouted out the area of Camp 1, seeing soldiers emerging from some particular bushes up against the cliff face. Maho took some of the down time to ask her pal Yura the very important questions of “Are you doing okay?”, whether she approves of casual sex, and whether the General’s bear is an actual bear or just a large hairy gay man. The answers were no, yes, and actual bear winky face, respectively. And Eden gathered some berries to eat in place of the very meat-heavy meal the others were enjoying.

The party then got all dressed up. Eden stood on Heph’s shoulders, both draped in a red cloak and Eden wearing a bunny mask. Ana disguised Maho to look more human, putting an Oni mask on her. And then they set out. The goliaths stayed a good 600ft back, while the party started approaching Camp 1. They flew up and hid in a tree while a group of orgy-goers passed under them, including it seemed Sascha Scheuer and Fritz Babo. Discovery averted, they approached the entrance and Maho immediately fell into a spike pit just beyond the obscuring bushes. A soldier inside helped her out, and with a nat 20 was 100% convinced that she was just coming back to the cave to grab the condoms she forgot. Eden and Heph drifted in after her. They spotted Edgar, the ambiguously-hetero bear dozing inside. He started to sniff them suspiciously, but Maho quickly sprayed Eden/Heph with peanut butter perfume, and after Eden handed Edgar a fish another nat 20 meant that the two main barriers to detection absolutely loved the party.

Heph/Eden snooped in the storage room, finding inventory for the entire encampment while Maho distracted the soldier with tales of how “Heven” had earned the General’s favor. Maho grabbed a whole bunch of condoms, and Heven jumped another pit to snoop on the General’s chambers. After casting invisibility, Eden investigated a map showing troop positions and movements within Cryptop. But she fell back, seeing General Samin Klarck was still at her desk with orders and other papers being read and signed.

While pondering their next moves, Heph’s Trick Tubes received a delivery: a note from Io alerting them that two soldiers, quite drunk, were returning to the cave. And Maho could hear from the entryway the voice of Sascha Scheuer and one other, laughing as they approached the entrance.

• Heph messages Maho, telling her we have company incoming, and she responds that she can hear them, and she thinks that Sascha is with the group
  • Maho thinks we can get out if we leave right away, but Eden has an idea she wants to try, and Heph messages Maho to get out and Heph and Eden will find their way
  • Maho tells the guard that she’s going to leave Heven to it and head back to the orgy before it gets any later, and the guard understandingly wishes her a good night and asks her to have a good time for him
  • Maho heads out, activating her Storm Rune, and passes by Sascha and gang as she heads for the exit, and they don’t seem to be suspicious
  • Sascha tells Maho she is missing the food, and Maho runs out, saying that might be the only food she eats tonight, and some condoms fall out of her pocket as she does
  • Maho Messages Heph with her dagger, telling him she got out and passed Sascha, and Heph responds telling her to meet up with the goliaths
• Heph hears Sascha and the other person discussing getting something from the general, and they start to head down the hallway, but the guard intercepts them and tries to convince them to stop
  • He leans in conspiratorially and explains that the general has a special guest, and Sascha and the conjurer are shocked but convinced that they shouldn’t disturb the general
  • Heph and Eden maneuver up the hallway, staying out of sight of the general, getting as close to the map as possible
  • Heph casts Greater Invisibility on Eden and she hops off his shoulders, sneaking over to the map, remaining undetected
  • Eden twiddles the Ring of the Grammarian and casts “Dimension Doop”, reaching out and grabbing the map and pulling on it, but as she does, she pulls out an ethereal duplicate of the map away, rather than pulling the map itself, and as the ethereal copy separates it becomes solid and disappears from Heph’s view as she rolls the copy up
  • She heads back to Heph and subtle casts Dimension Door, teleporting us back towards the goliaths
  • Heph orients himself and tells Io we are out and to expect us
  • Maho has made it to near Karrl, and Heph messages her as well, telling her that we are out and we should rendezvous back at the goliaths
• We all meet back up with the goliaths, and it is now late enough that it is more or less fully dark
  • Io asks how it went, and we explain it went well, and the story Maho told the guard helped buy us some time
  • We hike a decent distance away, and then Heph draws a 10 sq ft door on a tree
  • While painting it, we hear a rustling in the woods nearby, and Eden tosses her owl out to take a look
  • Looking through the owl’s eyes, Eden sees a large lumbering shape approaching, similar to the illusion of the bigfoot we previously encountered
  • Eden investigates and is pretty sure it’s just an illusion, and tells the rest of us, and has the owl fly back, having it pass through the illusion on its way back
  • As the owl flies towards the illusion, the bigfoot swings its claw, and the owl disappears in a puff of feathers
• Eden, realizing the bigfoot isn’t an illusion, casts Polymorph on it, turning it into a duck
  • Heph and Maho aren’t entirely convinced that it was really a bigfoot, and Heph asks if she wants to bring it back to Hojo with us
  • Io is also not convinced that it’s anything more than a duck, and Eden hands the duck to her to hold
  • Heph finishes the door, and we prepare to go through it, Eden convincing Io that the duck isn’t really a duck and we should leave it
  • Maho eats the bivalve and opens the door to Mana’s house, and through the door we see Goro setting up for dinner
  • We all run through the door, and right before it closes, Eden drops concentration, and the bigfoot starts charging the door as Eden closes it, revealing it to be a sasquack
• Back at Mana’s, Goro is a bit confused about what happened, and welcomes us back
  • He tells us someone came by earlier and dropped something off for us, pointing at a few Hoops uniforms for the game later that night
  • Heph invites Io, Suzuki and Tomatsu to join us for dinner, realizing after he does it that he probably should have checked with Maho, but she is okay with it
  • We have a short rest and eat a delicious meal of rice stir fry, with the meat separate so that Eden can eat it
  • Heph invites Goro to come eat with us, and he happily joins, and Eden feels very inspired by Goro to compose a song
  • After we eat, Eden pulls out her strumbox and starts playing Eye of the Tiger, and when Heph asks her what it is called she answers
• After the excitement of the meal and music, we put on our uniforms for The Griffins and head to The Garden
  • Eden inspires Maho and Heph, and uses Enhance Ability to give the whole team advantage on strength checks
  • Eden takes small forward, Heph takes power forward, and Maho takes the point guard position
  • We are facing The Ume Pinkberries, who takes possession first
  • Heph knocks the ball away from the player with possession using Mage Hand, and Maho scoops it up and dribbles it across the court, dodging the opponents
  • She passes the ball to Heph, who immediately tosses it up and dunks it with a Mage Hand
• We cut forward to the Pinkberries taking a shot, and one of our teammates catches it on the rebound, and being a little confused about what to do, passes it to Eden
  • Catching it, Eden Dimension Doors to the hoop and drops the ball gently through the hoop as the crowd goes wild
  • One of the referees is now spending most of the game going through the rulebook and not finding any rules preventing what we are doing
  • As we get into the second half of the game, Heph has activated his boots and is flying
  • Eden has used Suggestion on an opponent and Slow on the opposing team
• Towards the end of the game, we are winning 583 to 7 with only enough time for a single play left, and the Pinkberries have the ball
  • One player passes the ball from behind the baseline to another, who dribbles, and passes it off to another teammate
  • Maho uses her Cloud Rune to redirect the pass to her, and with Haste active she charges down the court and jumps up to dunk the ball, dunking it 3 times repeatedly just for fun
  • Having dunked it 3 times is actually breaking the rules, and the Pinkberries get a couple of free throws, as Maho collapses in exhaustion
  • The first free throw goes in despite Eden’s gust, and the crowd holds their breath
  • Eden attempts to gust the second one, but he manages to get that in regardless
  • The score is now 585 to 9, and the Pinkberries fans are on the edge of their seats
  • The Pinkberries pass the ball in, dribble it down the court, and weirdly are left completely unopposed
  • As they go to shoot the final shot, a 3-pointer flying in as the buzzer sounds, and Heph launches a Magic Missile at the last second, blowing up the ball right before it can go in
  • The crowd looks to the referee, who looks between the smoldering bits of ball, the defeated Pinkberries, and Heph, and throws the book down, says “The Griffins win!” and walks out
  • The Griffins’ fans and the rest of the team erupt in cheers and celebrate the win as Eden casts invisibility to get away from the mayhem
  • As the celebration is going, Maho gets pulled into a vision from the perspective of the shadow creature that broke away heading to Hojo, and can tell it will arrive in Hojo before daylight
  • Connecting deeply with the creature for a moment, Maho is able to give it an instruction, and she commands it to wait on the outskirts of the village, in her waterfall “secret base” from when she was a kid
