Last session, our heroes prepped their next steps post Elias’ departure. Izume and the other goliaths offered to find a good place to stay in the Town while Maho and Heph headed to Hexicon. They hopped in the wagon with Woahdoe Boedough, and off they went.

Outside the Hoss Convention Center, they encountered a group of protesters, seemingly followers of Sarnann who believed magic did not belong to mortals. One of the protesters, holding a sign reading “Who’s really doing the casting?” with an image of a demon puppeteering a mage, directly confronted the party. She claimed her powers had grown stronger in the last few hours, a sign from her god. After Heph changed her sign to read “I’s really doing the casting?”, and she charmed two Central Command soldiers then dumped water on Maho, both party members went inside.

Heph went to Artificer’s Alley to find Sentin. Most of the tables had already packed up, but among those remaining he met a sketchy hawker who he mostly ignored, two teen volunteers named Nelvrin and Kelvrina from whom he stole a cell phone, and a vendor named Ron Parchment who directed him to the west wing of the Convention Center where Sentin had gotten off to.

Meanwhile Maho headed with Mindprison to the Open Mystery Bar. She enjoyed a number of drinks with unusual effects with Mindprison, and with a candy vendor named Sweet Swizz. She then noticed Magdalene Stanger sitting alone at a table. Magdalene tried to pretend she was someone else, afraid of being turned in to TK. Maho assured her she didn’t work for TK anymore, and learned that Magdalene was trying to ply her passion of arcane gardening in secret. She also learned, after Magdalene really latched on to her, that she would be doing experiments on the killed Mistguard soldiers that night. Maho, feeling slightly worried for the woman, offered her protection if she needed it.

Heph found Sentin in a small conference room in discussion with two other individuals he didn’t recognize. Upon seeing Heph, he dismissed the two and welcomed him in. Heph lied that his friends had abandoned him, and that he was interested in Sentin’s offer. Sentin gave him a contract with a deadline of 7:30pm the following day. If he did not accept by that time, Sentin would no longer delay in directing the law after the party.

Heph invisibled himself and dropped by the bar. After stealing several pieces of Swizz’s candy, he had a sense that they should drop back by the Harengon. The party left the Convention Center headed for the Town. They rode down a normal residential street, only to find one building flipped fully upside down, balanced on the tip of its roof. The goliaths were evacuating. Heph flew in through a window and Maho climbed in after him, only to find the Harengon on the ground, awake, clutching her head. She looked up and said “I am so sorry”.
