Last session, our heroes met Hooded Beth, an Archfey they knew had a pact with Ash. The cloaked creature said that Maho’s axe had worn through the barrier between realms enough that her daggers could be possessed by other fey individuals, one of which (Sir Stab), freed her. Hooded Beth did not seem to hold any ill will towards the party, but wanted to wield Maho’s axe alongside her. As for the rest of the party, she bristled at Heph’s mention of The Hermit (Tertel) and The Wayfarer (Darryl), referred to Eden as “nameless one”, and was generally taken aback at the party’s fairly casual tone when talking with gods. Hooded Beth mentioned that she is at odds with Sentin herself, and that his inventions had intruded upon her domain. Heph, hearing this, immediately thought of the strange masked shadow creatures Mana, Maho’s mom, had encountered, which Hooded Beth explained were not fey creatures, but beings of this realm which she had offered a third choice between life and death. Hooded Beth also cautioned “the nameless one” against trusting someone like Sentin, who offered her control of herself, although all he ever seemed to want was control over others.

Eventually, Maho held out her axe for Hooded Beth, who placed her long sleeves on it, giving Maho the sensation that the weight was lessened, as if someone was helping her hold the weapon. Sir Stab returned to dagger form, and Hooded Beth grew and then disappeared, leaving only her cloak behind.

The party returned to their Mansion, the door to Scythcrest Reef disappearing behind them. Maho tested out the axe on a wooden training dummy, noticing the wood around her strike wither and rot, a shadow passing in front of her eyes. Then, leaving Mort being served food in the restaurant at the back of the Mansion, they prepared to leave for Hexicon. Ana helped disguise them, Maho as Alsa Peonybark, Eden as Isariel Ilbareth, and Heph casting Disguise Self to appear like Leo the Grammarcist. They took Woahdoe Boedough and the cart.

Upon arriving, Heph set about trying to get a pass. He was unfortunately recognized by Kelvrina as the person who stole her phone, and she attempted to blackmail him into giving her drugs. Eden, reluctant to give drugs to a fifteen-year-old, Suggested that she do her job cheerfully for the rest of the day. Since her job description should involve reporting someone like Heph rather than extorting him for kush, the party set about frantically trying to remedy the situation. Eden redirected the guard, Heph grabbed an Invisibility from Maho’s axe, and the party eventually made it inside the convention.

We now find ourselves outside Loddy Tot’s Hod Bod Hot Spot, a purveyor of arcane attire, ready to do some shopping.
